We create value in a sustainable way

Ilfer Industria Lavorazione Ferro S.p.A. is a company specialized in the recovery and preparation for the recycling of scrap iron, carbon steel, stainless steel and other non-ferrous metals and plays a primary role in its sector of activity.
The company maintains relationships exclusively with commercial operators endowed with VAT number.

Its constitution dates back to 1973.
It was born as a site of services for the processing of slabs of the Finsider group companies (IRI), maximum exponent until 1988 of the Italian steel industry.
The founding partner Niselli Antonio has been authorized since the ’50s to the purchase of scrap for the Terni Company for Industry and Electricity before and for Terni Acciai Speciali S.p.A. then.
The property has always been 100% of the Niselli family, already present at the time with another company in the sector of rebar processing.

Starting from the mid-eighties a significant reorganization of plants began, in order to provide the company with the most innovative and powerful systems for scrap processing in order to meet the increasingly specific needs of the iron and steel market and in particular those of the local steel plant , mainly addressed, as still today, to the production of special steels.
Production capacity is increased and the sales and sales network is expanded.
The Company becomes a major player in the national scrap market both in terms of size and profession.
At the end of the 1990s a new initiative was undertaken with the establishment of a company owned by Ilfer S.p.A. and from ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni SpA, today Acciai Speciali Terni S.p.A. with u.s., with which to develop synergies and collaborations.
This company called Terni Frantumati S.p.A. produces, with a specialized and innovative crushing plant, high quality ferrous and stainless steel crushed scrap for steel mills. A partnership established over time to expand the range of specific materials.
The company’s development continues constantly over the years not only in terms of production and commercial capacity but also and above all with reference to the introduction of new methods.

Ilfer has acquired all the compulsory and voluntary certifications to operate efficiently and professionally in the recovery sector metal materials with procedures suitable to reconcile industrial logics with the respect of environmental regulations and safety at work, in the awareness that growth and development pass first of all through respect for the environment, health and safety.
The specialization and industrial skills, based on an in-depth knowledge of the reference markets and of the treated materials and an adequate plant engineering organization, recently renewed both in terms of size and technology, allow the company to better meet the needs of the customer-consumer steel.
A long history of consolidated business relationships and healthy competitiveness testify how reliability, correctness and professionalism can favor the achievement of the development objectives, which is such only in respect of that of the other organizations, aimed at achieving ever-increasing efficiency.
